Roma Heritage Alive (2022 – 2023)

In collaboration with local schools, artists, and cultural institutions in Fier, TIRC implemented
the "Roma Heritage Alive" initiative, a year-long project that celebrated Roma history, music,
and storytelling traditions. The project engaged Roma youth in weekly cultural workshops
focusing on oral histories, traditional crafts, and Romani language revival. Through
intergenerational exchange, older community members passed down forgotten customs,
songs, and stories, while youth created digital recordings and photo exhibitions of these practices. A final cultural festival brought together Roma and non-Roma communities,
building mutual respect and cultural understanding.
